Transitional Relationships

There was one particular relationship that stood out to me because it was a type of relationship that I had never really paid too much attention to, the transitional relationship. It is the type that’s based on having fun and commonality.
These two had a lot of fun being together. But it only went so far on her end because at a certain point she knew he wasn’t someone she wanted to marry. Only this story wouldn’t have been interesting to me unless he didn’t see things that way. After they broke up, he kept trying to pursue her in a couple different ways, hoping that time would help her realize things, only she had moved on. I came away from the conversation pondering the situation, but more than anything, feeling a little sorry for the guy. It’s tough when one person in the relationship knows before the other that they’re just not right together. Sometimes the other person will never see it that way, other times they will. And sometimes it just hard to accept the fact that some people are only in our lives for a short period of time, that they are, and we are to them, transitional relationships.
